Process: It starts with an unscripted visit captured by the BirdBuddy. I curate only the images where the bird meets the lens—that moment of connection is the essential seed. I then use AI exclusively as a sophisticated cutting tool to remove the original background (for privacy and creative focus). The bird itself is never altered or generated by AI.
From there, the human art process begins. Using digital painting and illustration tools, I recontextualize the bird within entirely new environments inspired by graphic art, scientific illustration, and textile patterns. The goal is to transform a documentary photo into a composed icon.
Inspiration & Philosophy: My work is about revealing the extraordinary in everyday backyard biodiversity. I see technology as a bridge from a wild moment to artistic contemplation. The final piece is a collaboration: the bird provides the authentic spark, and I build the world around it, always honoring the real creature that started it all.
Authentic encounter. Ethical AI use. Human artistry.
